From Madison Square Garden, New York, for the first time--with twice the live audience, the 1997 Grammy Awards gave top honors to a diverse group of recording artists, ranging from Hilary Rodham Clinton (for Spoken Word) to Eric Clapton.
Eric Clapton won both Best Recording and Album of the Year honors for his Change the World. Tony Bennett was honored for Best Pop Album. Babyface was honored as Producer of the Year. Sheryl Crow took top Rock Artist honors.
